Went to Michigan State where he played two years before declaring himself eligible for the draft.
Drafted 1st overall in the 1979 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Played for the Lakers from 1979 until 1991 when he retired after announcing he had HIV on Nov. 7.
Voted to play in the 1992 NBA All-Star Game by fans.
Played on the US Olympic team in 1992.
Created the Magic Johnson Foundation to help battle HIV.
